The Department of Naval Architecture, Diponegoro University (UNDIP) is committed to occupational safety and health (K3) by successfully holding a safety drill and assisting with fires on campus on 21 November 2023. This activity involves students, staff and lecturers in a joint effort to increase readiness to face emergency situations.
*Prof. Hartono Yudo, Head of the UNDIP Department of Naval Architecture,* said, “We consider safety to be a top priority, and this activity reflects our determination to provide a safe learning environment and support the development of practical skills for our students. The Safety Drill is not just about responding to fires, but also about building awareness and skills that are valuable throughout a career in naval architecture.”
This Safety Drill includes fire simulations in UNDIP Department of Naval Architecture laboratories and facilities. Students and personnel are invited to participate in emergency rescue, use of fire extinguishers, and time coordination to deal with emergency situations. This provides invaluable practical experience for them in dealing with real-world security challenges.
The UNDIP Naval Engineering Department also took advantage of this opportunity to increase knowledge about evacuation procedures and campus security protocols among new students, helping them adapt to their academic environment.
In an effort to encourage public participation and awareness, the UNDIP Department of Naval Architecture invites the media and related parties to participate in reporting and supporting their efforts to create a safe and sustainable environment.
