Diponegoro University Faculty of Engineering Has a New Dean for the 2024-2029 Period

Monday, January 15 2024, Diponegoro University announced the replacement and appointment of various new officials, including at the Faculty and Study Program level. This happened in line with the issuance of the Decree of the Chancellor of Diponegoro University, which was recorded in the series of SK numbers 32/UN7.A/KP/I/2024 to 81/UN7.A/KP/I/2024. In the list of appointments, Prof. Dr. Jamari, S.T, M.T was elected as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for the 2024-2029 term.

The appointment and oath ceremony for new officials was held at the Prof. Building. Soedarto, S.H. Prof. Jamari replaces Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, M.M, M.Sc, Ph.D, who previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering during the 2019-2024 period. The handover ceremony for the position of Dean is scheduled to take place on January 19 2024.

Prof. Jamari has a strong academic background in the field of Tribology, as a professor in the Undip Department of Mechanical Engineering. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from ITB in 1999, followed by a Master’s degree from the same institution in 2001. He obtained a Doctoral degree from Universiteit Twente, Netherlands in 2006. Apart from teaching, he is also active in Tribology research and delivering related material. construction at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Undip.

In his career at Undip, Prof. Jamari served as Chair of the Mechanical Engineering Department in the 2016-2017 period, Secretary of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) in 2017-2019, and most recently as Chair of the Undip LPPM from 2019-2024.

Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for the 2019-2024 period, submitted the final report of his term of office to Prof. Jamari as new Dean for the 2024-2029 period.

Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H, M.Hum, hopes that the newly appointed Deans can continue and improve the achievements achieved by previous officials. “We hope that you can maintain and even improve your existing achievements,” said Prof. Josh.

During his tenure, Prof. Agung succeeded in bringing various achievements to Undip’s Faculty of Engineering, including gaining recognition as an Integrity Zone-Corruption-Free Area from the Ministry of PAN-RB in 2021 and ISO 21001:2018, ISO 45001:2018, and ISO 17025:2017 certification. Great hopes are pinned on the new leadership period so that the Faculty of Engineering Undip can continue to develop and achieve.
