Hydrotech and Ekalawya Diponegoro University have made brilliant achievements in the COMET (Competition of Maritime Education and Training) Competition which was held in Surabaya. Even though they did not succeed in winning first place, their success in achieving second place in the Boat Race Competition and third in the Design Boat Innovation competition shows the extraordinary dedication and abilities of the team members.
The first team, which won 2nd place, presented its concept and design innovation directly in front of the judges. The racing system (boat race) is carried out using a knockout system with a lower bracket where the boats will compete at 1 vs 1 speed. The race is carried out in 2 laps, the first lap with a load, the second lap without a load.
Meanwhile, the second team, which won 3rd place, presented the results of their innovative design with the theme military rescue vessel in front of the judges with 15 minutes and 10 minutes of questions and answers.

As for the message from the Chairman of Ekalavya, Davis Rian Kusuma, “A strong team is not about individual strength, but rather the synergy and collaboration of each member. We are not superman but we are superteam”.
Their achievement was not only a victory for the team itself, but also an inspiration for other students in the field of shipping engineering. This success not only raises the good name of the university, but also proves the important role of students in developing the shipping industry in Indonesia. It is hoped that this brilliant achievement will be a trigger for more students to be actively involved in activities that support the development of the maritime sector in the future.
