Monday, July 21, 2025, HIMASPAL UNDIP once again held an inspiring event in the form of a guest lecture session themed “Beyond the Boundaries – Achieve Japanese Shipyard Internship.” This activity was organized as a concrete contribution by the Naval Architecture Student Association of Diponegoro University (HIMASPAL UNDIP) to provide insights and motivation for students to explore international opportunities, particularly in the rapidly growing global maritime and shipbuilding industry.

The guest lecture invited two outstanding alumni from the Naval Architecture Study Program, M. Azizul Miftah and Eghy Audhy R. P., both of whom had first-hand experience participating in internship programs at Japanese shipyards. With highly relevant backgrounds, the two speakers shared their experiences navigating the challenges and opportunities they encountered during their internships in Japan, a country renowned for its discipline and high standards.

Through this session, students not only gained technical knowledge about the shipbuilding industry but also valuable insights into the stages of international internship selection, administrative preparation, and working experiences in an environment that strongly upholds a professional work culture. The alumni’s experiences broadened the students’ perspectives, providing a clear picture of the global workforce and how to face it with thorough preparation.

This guest lecture aimed to provide Naval Architecture students with a deeper understanding of the importance of international experience in building global competitiveness. HIMASPAL UNDIP hopes that students will be inspired to further develop themselves, not only in technical aspects but also in mastering international work culture and cultivating a global mindset. The event encouraged students to go beyond existing boundaries, step out of their comfort zones, and seize greater opportunities in the future.

With the spirit of “Beyond the Boundaries,” this guest lecture served as a tangible step in preparing Naval Architecture students of UNDIP to compete and contribute in the international maritime industry, ultimately opening up broader opportunities for their future careers in the global job market. It was not only about information, but also about fostering enthusiasm and motivation that could positively impact their professional journeys.

As part of the event, the guest lecture was conducted online via Zoom at 4:30 PM (WIB), allowing participants to attend flexibly from their respective locations. HIMASPAL UNDIP welcomed all students to join and actively engage in this discussion, expand their perspectives, and most importantly, build a stronger international spirit.
