Semarang (18/08/2022) – PKKMB (Introduction to Campus Life for New Students Admission) is an introductory activity to introduce the marine engineering undergraduate campus environment. PKKMB activity – Pendikar Department of Naval Architecture in 2022 on 16 – 18 August 2022. This activity begins with the introduction of Study Programs, the ranks of lecturers and staff in the department brought by the Head of the Department of Naval Architecture Undip, Mr. Dr. Eng Hartono Yudo, S.T., M.T. The hope is that 141 new students can take part in lecture activities well.

After the PKKMB Activity, Character Education or Education was carried out where this year Diponegoro University carried the theme “Professional and Character at the Merdeka Campus: Adaptive, Tough, Intelligent and Ethical”. As the opening of the Pendikar activities, Mr. Ari Wibawa, S.T., M.Sc. provide an explanation of the urgency of the pendikar and the meaning of the theme presented this year. In addition, new students from the Class of 2022 were given an understanding of how to manage themselves by Dr. Tuswan, S.T. for new students to be able to know themselves better.

On the second day of the Character Education Activities, the material presentation activities were interspersed with several interactive games to encourage new students to think critically and apply leadership attitudes as stated in the material presented by Mr. Dr. Muhammad Luqman Hakim, S.T. The activity ended with a Declaration of Excellence (DoE) “UNDIP COMPLETE” led by Dr. eng. Andi Trimulyono, S.T., M.T.

In closing, on the last day or the fourth day, new students of the Class of 2022 are introduced to activities that can be used as a forum for students to hone skills or develop their talents such as the Hydrotech Bureau which accommodates students to explore Hydromodeling, Roboboat as Autonomous ship research and Research of Marine Technology or RMT student research team for solar powered ships. Himaspal was also introduced as the Department of Student Association which facilitates services to students.

Previously, the activity began with the introduction of alumni profiles so that students were motivated in undergoing lectures and could better understand post-campus life through sharing sessions with Alumni Department of Naval Architecture, Mr. Daris.

During four days of activities, new students were very enthusiastic about the material presented because the implementation was interspersed with ice breaking and interactive games so that new students were able to better understand the essence of each material. In addition, new students are also provided with supporting facilities in the form of material props, heavy and light consumption, as well as a special lunch room with proper seating.
