This prestigious competition took place at the Surabaya State Polytechnic of Shipbuilding from October 23-28, 2024, with participants from 45 top universities across Indonesia.

The contest served as a platform for students to showcase creative innovations in six competition categories:

2. Machinery and Electrical Systems Innovation Ship Design (ISPK)
3. Design and Construction Innovation Ship Design (IDK)
4. Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV) Prototype Production and Performance
5. Electric Remote Control (ERC) Ship Prototype Production and Performance
6. Fuel Engine Remote Control (FERC) Ship Prototype Production and Performance

Diponegoro University (Undip) participated by sending six teams to compete in all categories. Preparations for the competition began in June 2024, involving a series of internal campus selections, proposal evaluations by Puspresnas, and the final report and presentation stages.

Undip teams proudly achieved remarkable success:
– First place in the Electric Remote Control (ERC) category by Lembuswana Team 2 from the Hydrotech research team.
– Second place in the Design and Construction Innovation (IDK) category by Ganendra-EZ from the Ekalawya research team.
– Runner-up in the Special Equipment Innovation (IPK) category by Avirodha-EZ from the Ekalawya research team.
– Funrace award in the ERC category.

Ganendra-EZ team leader Syahrul Ramadhan explained, “Our team prepared the KKI presentation for three months, facing various challenges, but with the support of our team members, mentors, and the Ekalawya research team, we proudly achieved second place and brought honor to Diponegoro University. This shows that collaboration and perseverance can overcome all obstacles.”

Muhammad Zikri Rhamadhani added, “We, LEMBUSWANA TEAM 2, won first place in the ERC category and received an award in the Fun Race category. This is a significant achievement for both our team and Diponegoro University, and we are very pleased with the result. There were many stages we went through, all completed smoothly, leading to a very satisfying outcome. We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone involved in our success, especially Hydrotech Undip, which supported and fought with us to achieve this victory.”

This event not only served as a competition but also provided a means to strengthen collaboration and innovation in shipbuilding. It encouraged students to innovate in creating more efficient and environmentally friendly ships. Let’s keep this spirit alive and continue to innovate for the advancement of Indonesia’s maritime industry!
