Semarang, February 9, 2024 – The Department of Naval Architecture, Diponegoro University, held Webinar Series #1 with the theme of Campus Synergy with Alumni in 2025. This event presented Arfis Maydino Firmansyah Putra, an alumnus of the first batch of Naval Architecture Bachelor’s degree, who is now pursuing a career as a Young Expert Engineer at the Hydrodynamics Technology Research Center – BRIN.

This webinar was attended by active students and alumni of Naval Architecture Undip from various batches. Arfis shared his experiences and insights regarding hydrodynamic technology, ship design, and energy-efficient innovations for high-speed ships through this session. The materials presented covered various research and projects carried out by the speakers, including the design of patrol ships, smart passenger ships, and tsunami early warning technology.
As a researcher and ship design consultant, Arfis emphasized the importance of synergy between academia and industry in developing maritime technology in Indonesia. He also motivated students to continue developing their skills in ship design, hydrodynamics, and marine engineering to compete globally.
This inspiring event strengthens the relationship between campus and alumni and opens up opportunities for further collaboration in marine engineering. The Undip Marine Engineering Department plans to continue this webinar series by presenting more alumni who have succeeded in the maritime industry to provide broader insights to students and the academic community.
With this activity, it is hoped that students and alumni will be increasingly motivated to contribute to developing a more advanced and innovative Indonesian marine industry.
