The Undergraduate Program in Naval Architecture, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), welcomed a visit from Higaki Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a renowned shipbuilding company based in Imabari, Ehime, Japan. The visit aimed to explore potential recruitment opportunities for UNDIP students and graduates to work in Japan’s maritime and shipbuilding industry.
Representing the company, Mr. Shoichi Higaki, Director of Higaki Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., introduced the company’s profile and presented possible career paths available for Indonesian students, particularly from UNDIP. Higaki Shipbuilding is recognized as one of the leading shipyards in the Ehime region, specializing in the construction of merchant vessels with advanced technology, high energy efficiency, and international safety standards.
Collaboration between UNDIP and the Japanese shipbuilding industry has been ongoing for several years. A number of UNDIP Naval Architecture alumni have built their careers in Japan through various programs such as the CAJS Internship Program and other international cooperation initiatives.
