Semarang, November 27, 2025 – The Naval Architecture Department of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), hosted an industrial visit from Puger Fisheries and Maritime Vocational School (SMK) from Jember, East Java. The visit aims to enhance students’ competencies in the maritime and naval architecture fields, as well as to strengthen the network between vocational education and higher education institutions.

A total of 40 students from three areas of expertise participated in the visit, including 20 students from Nautical Science for Fishing Vessels (NKPI), 10 students from Fishing Vessel Engineering (TKPI), and 10 students from Ship Construction Engineering (TKK). Accompanied by 12 teachers, the group was welcomed by Dr. Eng. Samuel, Secretary of the Naval Architecture Study Program (Sekprodi), who represented the Head of the Study Program (Kaprodi). The event took place at the Workshop of the Naval Architecture Department, UNDIP, on Thursday, November 27, 2025, starting at 08.00 WIB.

Activities included a facility tour, demonstrations of naval architecture tools and machinery, and an interactive dialogue on career prospects and technological advancements in the maritime industry. In his address, Dr. Samuel expressed his appreciation for the students’ enthusiasm for learning.

“On behalf of the Head of the Study Program and the extended family of UNDIP Naval Architecture, I warmly welcome this visit. We are committed to continuously supporting the development of maritime human resources, especially from the vocational education level,” stated Dr. Samuel.

This visit is expected to serve as a source of inspiration for vocational school students to pursue further studies or build careers in the fields of naval architecture and maritime engineering.
