DEPOK, JULY 21, 2025 – At a strategic meeting of the National Consortium of Naval Architecture at the I-CELL Building, Universitas Indonesia, the Department of Naval Architecture Engineering, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), played a pivotal role by signing the official minutes of the national agreement. Dr.Eng. Ir. Samuel, S.T., M.T., IPP., UNDIP’s Secretary of the Study Program, attended as the official representative, solidifying the joint commitment of nine state universities.

The meeting, attended by UI, ITS, Unhas, ITK, UMRAH, UNEJ (Naval Construction Engineering), UPN Veteran Jakarta, Unpatti, and UNDIP, successfully established Minimum Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL) as a national standard. Five core competency pillars were ratified: the ability to demonstrate religious and Pancasila-driven ethics in applying science and technology; logical-critical-innovative decision-making; application of mathematics, natural sciences, and information technology to solve naval challenges; mastery of fundamental naval engineering principles; and sustainable self-directed learning.

Dr. Samuel emphasized that this standardized CPL framework will anchor UNDIP’s 2025/2026 Naval Architecture curriculum revision, prioritizing alignment with green maritime industry trends. During the forum, UNDIP proposed two strategic initiatives: a lecturer-student exchange program leveraging specialized expertise across universities and UNDIP’s Integrated Marine Laboratory, and a collaborative research project titled “Hydrodynamic Performance of Hybrid Vessels,” supported by a cross-institutional faculty competency database.

The signed minutes will be distributed to all consortium members, the Independent Engineering Accreditation Body (LAM Teknik), and the International Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE). UNDIP will immediately implement the agreement by developing CPL-based modules (August–December 2025), piloting student exchanges with ITS and UI in the Odd Semester, and opening its Integrated Marine Laboratory for year-end collaborative research.

“This agreement marks a new wave of tangible collaboration to cultivate globally competitive maritime human resources,” stated Dr. Samuel after the signing. UNDIP’s Department of Naval Architecture Engineering is poised to lead the transformation of naval architecture education through national standards and institutional synergy.
